St. Rose of Lima Students Shine as Howley Scholars at Malvern Prep and Merion Mercy Academy

In a remarkable achievement, four scholars from St. Rose of Lima have been honored as Howley Scholars, earning the opportunity to attend prestigious institutions such as Malvern Prep and Merion Mercy Academy this year.

Howley Scholars are selected based on:

  1. Demonstrate significant financial need as defined by the financial aid evaluation process currently used by the school.
  2. Have scores on admissions test/standarized tests to indicate a high probability of success.
  3. Demonstrate a high level of academic achievement.
  4. Exhibit a high probability of ongoing participation and meaningful contribution in at least one extracurricular activity.
  5. Demonstrate strong evidence of the family support and the cultural attributes necessary to succeed.

Blake McNeil & Leah Niles-Gilbert will continue their studies at Merion Mercy Academy on this scholarship. Spencer Sargent & Symir Wilson will be continuing their studies at  Malvern Prep on this scholarship.

As they prepare for this new chapter, they carry with them not only a strong academic foundation, but also encapsulate our mission of being a well-rounded citizen of character. Our four scholars’ achievements align with the Merion Mercy Academy’s mission of fostering intellectual curiosity and leadership skills in a supportive and collaborative environment and Malvern Prep’s mission of teaching and learning engages and inspires today’s young men to become tomorrow’s leaders.

The St. Rose of Lima community takes great pride in the accomplishments of these scholars, celebrating their success as they venture into new educational landscapes. The entire St. Rose of Lima community extends heartfelt congratulations to these remarkable scholars. We are confident that they will continue to shine brightly as scholars and leaders in their new academic homes.
